Head of Rostekhnadzor, Nikolay Kutyin, will open the third international conference “Oil and Gas Field Services in Russia” (NEFTEGAZSERVIS-2008)  that will take place in Moscow on October 21. Organized under the auspices of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia and the Association of Oil and Gas Equipment Manufacturers, the conference is a traditional meeting place for oil and gas companies and their contractors.  Rostekhnadzor has many times expressed its concern over the state of machinery and equipment in the oil and gas sector.   Progressing ageing of drilling, workover rigs and other equipment increases accident rate in the industry.  Drilling and workover technologies do not comply with safety standards, there are machinery and equipment design deficiencies, slow equipment modernization progress. It is important to reverse negative trends such as importing foreign-made drilling equipment, and to  manufacture competitive domestic equipment meeting all Russian safety requirements.

 

NEFTEGAZSERVIS is the most prestigious Russian forum bringing together executives of major oilfield services providing companies. NEFTEGAZSERVIS-2008 will be attended by executive vice-president for oilfield services of OJSC “TNK-BP Management” Mikhail Osipov, president of Integra Management Felix Lyubashevsky, president of BK “Eurasia” Alexander Bogachev, general director of Siberian Service Company Rafael Nuriev, general director of TNK-Group Rinat Kharisov and other executives of major companies.
