In the run-up to the October 21 meeting of oilfield services company executives that will take place in Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel,  n-g-k studio interviewed the marketing director of    Siberian Service Company, Alexey Kanashuk. SSK is one of Russia’s major oilfield services contractors providing a wide range of services to the oil and gas industry. Today, the company has eight divisions based in different regions of the Russian Federation and also operates in Uzbekistan.    

SSK provides the following services: exploration and production drilling, directional drilling, sidetracking, workover, mud design and services, circulation system services, cement squeeze.  SSK’s key customers are subsidiaries of OJSC “Gazprom” and OJSC “Rosneft”. In his interview, A. Kanashuk positively assessed oilfield services companies’ performance in the first half-year, “The first half-year was successful for Russian oilfield services  providers. Specifically, the scope of provided services continues to grow. For instance, the growth in the drilling segment was about 15 percent. The number of workovers also increased. Though the increase is not that big but still we can see an upward trend”.  Answering a question about  how to improve competitiveness of Russian oilfield services providers, A. Kanashuk said, “The solution is simple – a company should have technological advances, state of the art equipment and highly qualified personnel.  There are different ways to achieve it but best practices of leading western companies should be used”. 

The delegation of  Siberian Service Company at the third international conference NEFTEGAZSERVIS-2008 on October  21 will be headed by general director Rafael Nuriev.   Besides, the event will be attended by president of BK “Eurasia” Alexander Bogachev, president of Integra  Felix Lyubashevsky, general director of TNK-Broup  Rinat Kharisov and other oilfield company executives.  The conference will traditionally feature a presentation by TNK-BP’s vice-president Mikhail Osipov. The opening speech will be made by head of Rostekhnadzor, Nikolay Kutyin.

Alexey Kanashuk graduated from the Kuibyshev Politechnical University with a degree in mining engineering. Since 1994, he has been working in the oilfield services industry of West Siberia in  various positions.  In  2000, he joined Siberian Service Company where he was in charge of workover operations.  In 2002-2006, he worked as managing director in OJSC “Urengoyneftegazgeologia”.  In March 2006, he was appointed marketing director and deputy general director of CJSC “Siberian Service Company”.
