The prominent Russian gas industry professional, head of gas, condensate and oil  production department  of OJSC “Gazprom”, Nail Gafarov, will take part in the third international conference “Oil and Gas Field Services in Russia”  (NEFTEGAZSERVIS-2008). The conference that is organized under the auspices of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers is the traditional place for oil and gas companies to meet with their contractors.  The annual event is held every fall in Radisson Slavyanskaya hotel. 

Nail Gafarov was born on June 27, 1953 in Kokand, Uzbekistan.  In 1975, he graduated from the Ufa Oil University with a degree in oil and gas field development technologies, in 2001 he graduated from the Saint Petersburg University with an MBA degree.  Ph.D. in technical sciences. The professional activities of Nail Gafarov have always been dedicated to the gas industry. In 1975 – 2003, he worked in Gazprom’s subsidiary – Orenburggazprom.  In 1999, he was appointed chief engineer and first deputy general director, and in  2002-2003 he worked as general director of LLC “Orenburggazprom”. N.Gafarov developed and launched manufacturing of new generation Christmas trees for gas and oil fields; started using chelating agents and oil production; ensured safe operation of equipment for gathering and transportation of gas containing  hydrogen sulfide in Orenburgskoye gas condensate field.  He developed and introduced the natural gas fractionation unit and equipment for natural gas drying and sulfides removal. Gafarov has 18 inventor’s certificates. He is the author of more than 100 publications. He is the RF Government Prize winner, Gubkin Prize winner, he was also decorated with the Order of Merit for Country. Honorary worker of the Russian gas industry, distinguished worker of Mintopenergo, Gazprom Prize winner. As deputy head of gas, condensate and oil production department, Gafarov coordinates Gazprom’s strategic project of Yamal peninsula fields development.  

NEFTEGAZSERVIS is the most prestigious Russian forum bringing together executives of major oilfield services providing companies.
