Vladimir Putin delivered tough speech in Severodvinsk |
Vladimir Putin held a meeting in Severodvinsk on Friday that was attended by vice-premier Igor Sechin, presidential envoy to the North-West Federal District Ilya Klebanov, energy minister Sergey Shmatko, natural resources minister Yury Trutnev, industry and trade minister Viktor Khristenko, economic development minister Elvira Nabiullina, chairman of the managing board of OJSC “Gazprom” Alexey Miller. Vice premier noted that “capabilities for development of the oil industry through the current resource base and outdated technologies have been exhausted”.
Putin expressed his dissatisfaction with the measures taken by the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service to keep down fuel prices, “It is time the Antimonopoly Service woke up and started working, otherwise personnel decisions will be made”.
Prime minister criticized OJSC “Gazprom” for discrimination of independent producers at the oil industry development meeting in Severodvinsk, “I would like to call your attention to the fact that independent producers continue to have problems with access to your networks”, he said to Alexey Miller who was shaking his head at the words. “And do not shake your head”. In conditions of limited access the independent companies will continue to flair associated gas thus damaging the environment, prime minister said. “Controlling the networks, you should promote national interests”, Putin said.
