Bentec Drilling & Oilfield Systems to set up operations in Tyumen region |
The German company Bentec Drilling & Oilfield Systems plans to commission a drilling rig manufacturing plant in the Tyumen region before the end of 2008, the company’s regional investment policy department told Interfax news agency. Earlier reports said that in June 2007 Bentec acquired an unfinished production facility in the territory of OJSC “Tyumenskie Motorostroiteli” and started engineering work and preparation for construction of the factory. By estimates, the project investments reached 630 million rubles. To implement the project, Bentec Drilling & Oilfield Systems even registered the subsidiary LLC “Bentec” in Tyumen. Today, a real competitor to American, Chinese and German rig manufacturers is Uralmash-Burovoye Oborudovanie that supplies equipment to Gazprom, Rosneft, Surgutneftegaz, TNK-BP and German drilling contractors. Over the past two years, the company’s efforts helped improve the situation in OJSC “Tyumen Shipyard”.
