On May 20, deputy head of Rostekhnadzor and member of the Association of Oil and Gas Equipment Manufacturers, Nikolay Kutyin will present at the conference “Oil and Gas Equipment Standardization” (STANDARTNEFTEGAZ-2008). The conference will be held in Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel, Moscow.  The event will be attended by equipment designers, manufacturers and buyers – oil and gas industry companies.  The conference participants will discuss modernization of Russian standards for oil and gas equipment and pipes, and harmonization of oil companies’  technical requirements  for products they purchase. Today, standards are permissive rather than mandatory, and each oil and gas company develops its own technical requirements for equipment. Technical requirements of the major oil and gas producers should be integrated into the new standards. Technical specialists of oil and gas companies will tell about their equipment requirements. It will be a professional dialogue on urgent issues including technical renovation and improvement of domestic oil companies’ procurement system. Launching of major investment projects offers good prospects for Russian oil and gas equipment producers. The conference will also look at equipment safety issues.
