Gennady Zyuganov: Plant and equipment depreciation period exceeded 20 years |
Discussing Vladimir Putin’s nomination as prime minister, chairman of the central committee of the RF Communist Party, Gennady Zyuganov said, “I would ask you to consider some figures. The country produces only one and a half percent of high tech products. Russia no more is an industrial state. Plant and equipment depreciation period has exceeded 20 years. This is the verge of catastrophe”. Zyuganov further said, “It is worth reminding that over eight pre-war years the Soviet state commissioned 600 plants and enterprises annually, and those were the best plants in those days. Tank T-34, attack aircraft Il-2 and battle vehicle BM-13 (Katyusha) were unparalleled products created by Soviet engineers and workers. Over the past eight years, not a single large high tech enterprise has been built that we could be proud of. We only produce screw driver assembly cars. Over the same period of time, China has made a real breakthrough in the automobile industry. Led by the Communists, the country is about to produce 10 million cars annually using advanced assembly lines”.
