Norwegian oil company StatoilHydro has issued a press release to express its concern about information from some mass media regarding  its role in Shtokman gas condensate project and the company’s support of the project implementation plans.  

In this connection, StatoilHydro said that the company had been studying the Shtokman field development options for many years.  StatoilHydro expressed full support of the project, and its position remained unchanged since  signing the contract with OJSC “Gazprom” last October.

OJSC “Gazprom”, its partners and  Total StatoilHydro are working to find the best decision for Shtokman phase I. The final investment decision for the project will be taken in late 2009.
