OMK, TMK and ChTPZ reduced oil country tubular goods production |
According to the January-April results, Russian pipe manufacturers OMK, TMK and ChTPZ reduced their production. Vyksunsky Metal Plant (member of OMK) produced 499,27 thousand tons of pipes of different types, which is 21% less than in the first quarter of 2007. Large diameter pipe production fell by 31% to 250,53 thousand tons. ChTPZ Group shipped 415,9 thousand tons in the first quarter, which is 11% less than in the previous year. TMK’s output fell by 8% to 707 thousand tons, and welded LDP production dropped by 12% to 222 thousand tons. The situation is better in Izhorsky Pipe Plant (member of Severstal Group). The company signed contracts for pipe delivery for construction of pipelines Malay-Magtyiarlyk in Turkmenistan and Bovanenkovo-Ukhta in Yamal.
