The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) drilled approximately 15 600 meters in April 2008. The meterage includes about 14200 meters of production drilling and 360 meters of exploration drilling. Over the period of January – May 1, 2008, SOCAR drilled more than  70,5 kilometers including 68 380 meters of production drilling and 2 179 meters of exploration drilling.
