TNK-BP vice president: we will consolidate our core service assets into oilfield services company |
TNK-BP vice president of oilfield services Mikhail Osipov said in an interview to UralPolit.Ru, “Consolidation of assets into a single service company will promote experience sharing, technology adoption, contract optimization, equipment fleet renovation, market analysis, managerial processes improvement. The new service company will provide oilfield services to other oil producing companies. Today, it is not enough to use only conventional technologies and depreciated equipment and pay little attention to quality and safety of services provided. New impetus should be given to development of all aspects of the oilfield services business. That is why we will consolidate our core service assets into one oilfield services company”. He added that three types of assets would be involved in the consolidation process: drilling, sidetracking and workover companies. According to a source in the holding company, the service assets reform will not cause termination of existing contracts. Also, the source assured that none of the currently employed specialists in the service companies would be dismissed.
