RR-MNP Group wins tender of BK “Eurasia” to build floating drilling rig |
On December 29, a member of RR-MNP Group, the Astrakhan Shipyard ASPO with its Super M2 project won a tender for a contract to design and build a jack-up floating drilling rig. The tender was announced and held by LLC “Drilling Company Eurasia-Shelf”. the Group’s other companies will also be involved in the project: project management and procurement will be handled by LLC “RR-MNP”, development of design documentation and engineering support – by OJSC “TsKB “Korall”, construction – by LLC ASPO (parent shipyard) and OJSC SSZ “Lotos”, modules installation and leg assembly – by LLC “Crane Marine Contractor”. The floating drilling rig will be 62,8 meters long, 55,8 meters wide and 7,6 meters high. Leg height is 125 meters. Maximum drilling depth is 7620 meters, with maximum water depth of 91,4 meters.

LLC “RR-Offshore Oil and Gas Projects” (RR-MNP) was established in 2006 as a result of consolidation of assets of several companies engaged in designing and building of offshore drilling and production platforms. The company comprises design bureaus Vympel and Korall, shipyards Astrakhansky Korabel, Lotos and International III Plant, and the floating crane operator Crane Marine Contractor. According to the company, the 2006 consolidated proceeds amounted to approximately $100 million, the backlog of orders is estimated at $500 million, which allows to predict the 2007 revenues of $350 million.
