Yury Shafranik to hold meeting in Moscow to discuss situation in oil and gas field services market


A joint meeting of the Energy Strategies and Energy Sector Development Committee and Industry Development Committee will be held in the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry on September 28, 2010. Issues to be discussed include the situation in the oil and gas field services market, oil and gas equipment industry and metallurgy industry.    

This issue is more urgent than ever at this stage of Russia’s reforms and it is in line with the policies pursued by the country’s leaders to enhance economic development, promotion of innovations and modernization and efficient management of natural resources, the country’s main (and about the only) economic reserve.

The meeting will focus on a set of measures to trigger development of Russia’s geophysical and drilling companies, equipment manufacturers and other companies providing products and services to the oil and gas industry.  

Chairman of the Energy Strategies and Energy Sector Development Committee, Yury Shafranik will preside over the meeting.

The meeting is organized with the assistance of the Russia’s Union of Oil and Gas Producers and Association of Oil and Gas Equipment Manufacturers and is supported by industry’s major companies. The meeting invitees include representatives of ministries and departments, heads of oilfield services companies and equipment manufacturing plants, scientists and industry professionals. Following the meeting, heads of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry will issue a report to the government to outline the challenges faced by this very important sector of the national economy.    

The meeting venue is the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 6, Ilyinka Street, floor 3, the Small Hall, Moscow.
