11. Company history and overview of business
JSC “NPP “Kompensator” celebrated its 26th birthday in February 2007.
Established as a design office and a pilot factory a quarter of a century ago, the company has developed into a leading designer and manufacturer of bellows for different industries of Russia, CIS and overseas.
The company focuses on full-scale production of bellows, bellows compensators for oil and gas pipelines, power plants, heating mains, internal combustion engine exhaust systems, etc.
The manufactured bellows compensators and compensating devices (50 through 1800 mm diameter, 10 MPa) are certified by RF Gosstandart and have Permits to Use issued by RF Federal Service for Mining and Industrial Supervision, Sanitary certificate issued by Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection. The company holds licenses for designing and manufacturing of nuclear power stations equipment issued by Federal Inspectorate of Nuclear and Radiation Safety, and Federal Security Service license for use of information constituting state secret.
The company’s certification body handles certification of bellows equipment, boilers, fittings and connecting elements.
The company comprises engineering, manufacturing, testing divisions and a certification body.

Bellows equipment is not subject to licensing. The company obtained permits to manufacture and use compensators from Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision ¹ÐÐÑ-56-00387, valid till 17.04.2008, and a license issued by Federal Security Service ¹3038 valid till 2012.

JSC “NPP “Kompensator” designs and manufactures bellows compensators and compensating devices, diameter of 50-1800 mm, pressure of up to 10 MPa.
The Testing Center “Kompensator” was accredited by Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology for the right to carry out certification testing. The Testing Center has unique equipment that allow to test products for strength (up to 200 MPa), tightness, varying load, impact (product weight of up to 25 t, acceleration of up to 5500 m/s² impulse time of up to 50 ms), vibration (product weight of up to 5 t, pushing force up to 160,1 KN, frequency range 5 - 2000 Hz), shake simulation. The available equipment allows to carry out comprehensive tests, including seaborne machinery, deck machinery, ship power plant, electric equipment, ship devices, different purpose boilers, pipelines, pipeline fittings, heating devices, heat exchange equipment, compressed and liquefied gas tanks, valves, bellows, bellows compensators, seals, centrifugal pumps, piston pumps, hoses, shock absorbing devices.
Testing center “Kompensator” has an extensive experience of testing and diagnostics of products for various industries, such as ship building, aerospace, petroleum industry, coal industry, trunk pipeline transportation, gas industry, metallurgy, chemistry, petroleum chemistry, etc. that involve utilization and storage of explosion and fire hazardous substances and compound. The Certification body is accredited by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology and has a license for certification activities. Accreditation scope includes ship power plant equipment, ship systems and auxiliary mechanisms, pipelines, pipeline fittings, boilers, heating and water supply, hoses, bellows, compensators, seals, gas consuming equipment, plastic pipes, heating devices, heat exchangers.
