11. Company history and overview of business
LLC “Iskra-Turbogaz” was founded in 2002 to manufacture commercial gas compressor units and provide a complete range of installation, startup and lifetime maintenance services. One of the major manufacturing companies of the Ural region, it commenced manufacturing the new, advanced gas compressor units “Ural”.
In 2002-2010, LLC “Iskra-Turbogaz” supplied 109 gas compressor units to OJSC “Gazprom”, and the company by right is one of the leaders of the local gas compressor market.
The company is headed by Mikhail I. Sokolovsky, PhD in Engineering, associate member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and honored worker of science and technology.
The company focuses on manufacturing of “Ural” series gas compressor units for booster pump stations and underground gas storages and performs installation, startup and maintenance of the supplied equipment.
The gas compressor units have modular design and capacity of 10, 12, 16, 25 MW. The units are basically driven by gas turbines based on the PS-90 aircraft engine, and gas turbines NK-16-18, DG-90, AL-31, DN-80 can also be used.
The units use compressors manufactured by OJSC NPO “Iskra”, LLC “Kompressorny Kompleks”, Thermodyn (France), ĚŐČ (Japan), OJSC “Sumskoye Frunze NPO” (Ukraine), which are complete with conventional oil seals and bearings or dry gas seals and magnetic suspension of blower rotor, as may be required by the customer.

Assembly workshop:
-8 turbine assembly and prototyping sites (allows simultaneous manufacturing of 8 units, with assembly time of no more than 1.5 months);
-Assembly and testing site for gas compressor unit control blocks;
-Assembly site for gas compressor units support systems;
-Compressor test bench for mechanical and gas-dynamic testing and centrifugal compressors of 4-25 MW. The tests are performed to ensure compliance with local and international standards;
-Hydraulic test bench for pipelines with a pressure of up to 24 MPa;
-Air test bench;
-Welded joint X-ray control laboratory;
-Pipeline flushing and oil control equipment;
-Dry penetration test equipment;
-Manual and arc welding equipment. The standard welding technologies are certified by the National Association of Welding Control, welders have been trained and certified by the National Association of Welding Control;
-Fixed-site and mobile laboratories which perform testing of electrical equipment of more than 1000 V;
-Mechanical workshop;
-Hoisting equipment;
-Railroad dock for shipment of finished products, which is near the station of Balmoshnaya of the Sverdlovskaya Railroad;
-Motor road.
