11. Company history and overview of business
The first equipment manufactured by the company included cable excavators and cranes with low ground pressure for peat cutting.
Today, KRANEKS is Russia’s major manufacturer of buckets and other equipment made of wear resistant metal HARDOX supplied by SSAB, Sweden. The company has an exclusive right to use logo “HARDOX In My Body”.
The company now manufactures the following models of hydraulic crawler excavators KRANEKS: EK-240-06 (23 tons, bucket 1,05 m³), EK-240LC-06 (24 tons, bucket 1,2 m³), EK-270LC-05 (28 tons, bucket 1,25 m³), EK-330-06 (32 tons, bucket 1,5 m³), EK-400-05 (42 tons, bucket 1,9 m³), EK-450FS (EK-400-05 with front shovel, 45 tons, bottom discharge bucket of 2,6 m³).
Also, the company sells foundry, forged products and blanks, manufactures windows, etc.

Since 1998, the company comprises the joint venture “KRANEKS – KOMATSU” that occupies production floor space of 2000 m² and manufactures components and parts for its own excavators and KOMATSU equipment. The company operates advanced equipment with computer systems that allow to create detailed drawings and remotely control metal processing processes.
The main manufacturing equipment includes:
- gas cutting machine Tanaka (Japan), cutting width – 120 mm.
- laser cutting machine Trumpf (Sweden), max. cutting width – 12 mm.
- band saw Amada (Japan), for cutting accuracy and face parallelism of up to1 mm.
- 800 ton flanging press LVD (Belgium).
- 160,450 ton presses Komatsu (Japan).
- robot MOTOMAN by YASKAWA (Japan) to cut various parts at various angles.
