11. Company history and overview of business
1996
The company’s core business is integrated supplies of lab equipment of local and foreign manufacturers to Russian customers, in particular, in the North-West region
1997
The company launches manufacturing of proprietary furniture of LAB series that finds a ready market and successfully competes in Russia. The company issues a product catalogue presenting furniture, equipment and laboratory glass.
1998
The company’s expansion is triggered by a decision to develop in-house furniture production. Key customers include companies of the developing food industry. The company starts to demonstrate its products at specialized exhibitions.
1999
The company continues to develop the furniture business, designs new models and opens a metal frame workshop. As the company is rapidly developing and becomes well-known in the market, it is decided to start manufacturing proprietary laboratory equipment. The first instruments are LAB-series thermostat, heating mantles, shaker. The company is expanding and establishes sales and procurement departments. By the end of the year a fiscal metering program is in place.
2000
A new branch office opens in Moscow: the company starts expanding to the regions and cooperating with many companies in Russia, launches its website.
2001
The company reaches a new milestone and concludes first contracts with German companies Gerhardt, GFL and Binder for laboratory equipment supply. Furniture and instrument production is developing, quality increases. A second branch opens in Ufa.
2002
The range of instruments is expanding through designing and manufacturing of thermostats and thermal baths. The company concludes contracts with leading manufacturers of furniture components, and develops production of furniture with desktops made of FRIDURIT and TRESPA materials. A contract for laboratory equipment supply is concluded with the German company Julabo.
2003
The company moves to its new headquarters in Per.Chelieva, expands its production floorspace, and starts production of LAB-PRO series lab furniture. Sales structure changes: sector team and dealer team are established. The range of imported instruments widens, laboratory equipment supply contracts are concluded with international manufacturing companies such as IKA and Duperthal.
2004
New representative offices open in Samara and Novosibirsk, which allows to demonstrate the company’s products to end users in the regions. Dealer network is developing. The company extends the line of lab instrumentation for the oil industry (LAB-TZh-TS-01DNP, ARN-LAB-1), and issues a specialized catalogue. Lab equipment supply contract is made with the German company Nabertherm. Quality control department is established.
2005
The company offers a new instrument series: heating mantle LAB-FH-Euro, special bath for density measurement under low temperatures. ISO 9001 certification is launched. New lines of business are developing, exclusive contracts are signed with large suppliers (Coesfeld, Polytest, Elementar, Barloworld), order processing mechanisms are improved. Supply geography is expanding.
2006
Representative offices open in Barnaul and Surgut. ISO 9001:2000 certification is completed.
Today, “laboratory Equipment and Instrumentation” is a dynamic company:
- More than 1000 laboratories and production facilities annually
- Tens of thousands of instruments are supplied to customers annually
- In-house production of laboratory furniture and instrumentation
Over the ten years the company has become the leading supplier of the laboratory industry focusing on development and manufacturing of lab equipment and furniture, and on integrated laboratory supplies for various industries.
